Performance Matrix and its implementation in health organisation
Performance metrics or performance measures play a vital role in the
improvement of an organization. It evaluates the success of team work,
organization’s efforts, and outcomes of planned programs. Some organisations
used quantitative measures that cover all the significant aspects of
activities. Here, three performance measures or metric are given below;
ü Structural measure
It measures the
condition and capacity of an organization along with the factors that influence
care such as e-health system and medical facilities. Balancing measure. It only measures the change that is made in the system.
ü Outcome measure
It measures the health-related
outcomes; however, patient’s satisfaction with the received services is also
meaningful for organizations. Many organizations are using above-mentioned metrics to improve the
performance management. The performance management of an organization could be
better if they focus on quality improvement, accreditation, transparency,
provision of primary care, and financial incentive programs.
While working with the health organization, I
was used an outcome measure to control the high blood pressure specifically in
diabetic patients. I observed that systolic blood pressure is <140 mmHg and
diastolic is <90 mmHg in adults. By using the outcome measure, it was found
that all patients diagnosed with hypertension in the first six months of
diabetes. Moreover, outcomes revealed that after sometime patient’s health
improved and they are satisfied with the services they received in the
organization.
